October Business Reminders & Small Business Development Opportunities

Baldwin County, AL — As Baldwin County continues to grow with new business owners and entrepreneurs relocating from other states, timely reminders and resources are essential to keeping our business community strong. The Alabama Small Business Development Center (SBDC) and local partners are sharing important updates and opportunities for Chamber members this fall.

October Business Reminders

1. Alabama Annual Business License Renewal
The Annual State of Alabama Business License, administered through the County, is due October 1. Most businesses are required to hold both a State and City license.

2. Business Personal Property Tax
Many businesses are unaware of this annual “self-tax” on property such as desks, bookcases, and other items used to conduct business. This tax is due every year and can have significant consequences if unpaid — especially during credit checks, lawsuits, or financial reviews.

Please consider sharing these reminders with your networks to help local businesses stay compliant.
