Where History Meets Hospitality: The Kennedy House Breaks Ground in Downtown Foley
October 7, 2025 | Foley, AL — City leaders, partners, and community members gathered in downtown Foley to celebrate the groundbreaking of The Kennedy Resort, a boutique, adults-only micro-resort and hospitality campus designed to elevate the city’s downtown with exceptional dining, social, and lodging experiences.
The Kennedy Resort will restore and expand a beloved local landmark—The Kennedy House, established in 1948—into a vibrant hospitality destination that honors its legacy while introducing a new standard of Southern sophistication. The project aims to spark downtown revitalization and year-round visitation, create high-quality jobs across culinary, beverage, operations, and guest services, and offer thoughtfully curated experiences that appeal to both residents and travelers.
Developer and owner Daniel Cox IV shared his excitement during the ceremony, saying, “The Kennedy has always been a gathering place for joy, comfort, and community. Today we honor that legacy and build a destination Foley can be proud of for decades.” Co-owner Marti K. Webster added, “This project blends hospitality, design, and local spirit crafted for our neighbors first, and for guests who will soon call Foley their favorite getaway.”
When complete, The Kennedy Resort will feature elevated dining and beverage programs, boutique lodging, and curated social spaces rooted in the heritage of the original Kennedy House and reimagined for modern Foley. The independently developed project reflects a shared vision between its founders and the City of Foley to foster growth, creativity, and connection in the heart of downtown.
