The student entrepreneur program is returning to South Baldwin County this fall... And it is going to be EPIC!

Foley, AL — EPIC, a student entrepreneur program presented by the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation and the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber is returning to South Baldwin County this fall.

EPIC (Entrepreneur Program Impacting Communities) is a year-long, hands-on business program designed to inspire and equip the next generation of entrepreneurs. Open to students in grades 7–12 across Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Elberta, and surrounding areas, the program teaches the fundamentals of starting a business, offers valuable networking opportunities, and provides access to resources including funding for student start-ups.

Now entering its third year, EPIC has already made a remarkable impact. This past year, students received one-on-one business mentorship, engaged in collaborative learning experiences, and were awarded $2,500 to kickstart their ventures.

"It is such an asset to be part of this program, especially if you’re thinking about starting your own business one day. Even if you’re not, you’ll gain incredible insight into our local business community, meet inspiring leaders, and build valuable connections," said Ale Lewis of the Coastal Alabama Business Chamber.

The after-school program welcomes students from public, private, and home schools. Participants will have access to an interactive online business curriculum, be paired with an experienced mentor, and attend monthly in-person meetings featuring guest speakers at Coastal Alabama Community College in Gulf Shores. Applications for the 2025 program are open now through August 15.

"As a student, parent, or mentor, you have the opportunity to make a lasting impact and that doesn’t happen very often. Watching these students bring their ideas to life is inspiring, and I have no doubt they’re all going to do great things," said mentor Joanie Flynn.

EPIC is also seeking dedicated mentors and local businesses to support its mission. Sponsorships start at just $50 and are tax-deductible through the program’s 501(c)(3) foundation.
